Bank ATM Card Wrong PIN Error Causes

One of the causes is that you actually forgot your correct PIN. It may happen if you do not have a copy of it in your personal files.

Second, it is possible that you did not change the original PIN when the card was given to you.

Third, the account in the ATM card is not yet activated.

Forgot ATM PIN What To Do

Usually, you may simply contact the bank and request for a new card. However, they may need to block the old ATM card and lock the account for your protection. You may then request for a new one if you forgot your old PIN.

How Many Times Wrong ATM PIN Is Entered Before Being Captured By Machine

Usually, most banks will only allow up to 3 times of wrong PIN. Do not attempt to do it in for the fourth time as your card will be captured if you still put incorrect PIN.

Captured ATM Card What To Do

The only thing you can do is to request for assistance from the bank staff within banking hours or office hours. If the bank is still open, ask for assistance ONLY from the bank’s personnel. Never ask for help from strangers.

If the bank is closed, you need to wait for the next banking day or you may call the bank customer service hotline for help. Some banks will require you to request for a new ATM card if the last one is blocked.

Requirements for ATM Card Replacement

Most banks will require you to go to your branch of account to verify your identity. Bring at least 2 valid IDs, an affidavit of loss and an ATM card replacement fee, starting at around Php 200 depending on the bank.

Some banks may no longer require the affidavit of loss.

    1. Hi Genie
It may be possible that you are truly entering a wrong pin. However, if the machine is defective or not functioning well, then it is possible that it misreads your input. If your card has been blocked, you may call the bank’s hotline and report about it.
